The Trait Strategy was the 1st systematic attempt to study command. In the twentieth century it had been known as the " great man” theory. This method takes a go through the leaders personal attributes including but not limited to: motivation, energy, intuition, creativity, persuasiveness and foresight. Some of the traits which have been essential to this kind of list include: intelligence, self-esteem, determination, honesty and sociability. Thus it focuses primarily on the leader and not around the followers or situations. The strengths from the Trait Approach includes: 1) it is intuitively appealing, 2) it has research to again it's theory, 3) it highlights the leader, 4) it identifies the actual traits of a leader really should have and perhaps the traits we all do have got are the best intended for leadership. The weaknesses of the trait approach are: 1) failure setting the limits of any definitive list of leadership qualities, 2) that take organizational situations into consideration, 3) has much one-sided interpretation from the meaning of information, 4) it is weak in describing how leaders' qualities influence the outcomes of teams and groups in organizational settings, 5) it does not offer training and development to get leadership because individual's personal attributes will be for the most part steady and long term and are not really amendable to modify. (Northouse, 2010) By using feature information, managers can develop a deeper understanding of who they are and how they will influence others in the organization because benchmarks will be established and provided in the trait way in which persons can use to gauge their own personal leadership features. (Northouse, 2010). The Skills Procedure looks at the concrete activity that the innovator performs. The followers on this approach are able to evaluate the leader's daily activities and behavioral attributes.
